— Hunter S. Thompson

Hey there! My name is Jason and I'm a professional photographer in Portland, Oregon. I've been been into photography since I was about 6-years old, thanks to my mom taking a photo on a tripod and explaining what she was doing, but REALLY getting into it in high school, and let me tell you, I've come a long way since then.

Like most beginners, I used to take photos of trees, flowers, and Black Widow spiders, but early on I found what subject I’ve enjoyed shooting the most: people.

I love capturing the unique moments and personalities of the people I photograph. It's like going on a mini adventure every time I pick up my camera! Plus, it is the perfect reason to meet new and interesting people.

So what makes me different from all the other photographers out there? Not only do I communicate well, I give excellent direction while photographing! That alone sets me apart from the rest of the pack, trust me. Plus, I'm not afraid to take on any challenge. Want me to photograph your pet iguana? No problem. Your son's bar mitzvah? I got this. Your grandma's 90th birthday party? I'm all in, baby! I am literally down for whatever.

In short, I'm confident, unconventional, and always up for a good time. So if you want photos that are as unique and awesome as you are, hit me up! I promise you won't be disappointed.

“Photography is the story I fail to put into words.”

— Destin Sparks

As a photographer, I have always been drawn to the power of film to transport us to new worlds and tell compelling stories. But for me, it's not just about the thrills and chills - it's about the technical aspects of film that really get me excited. From the perfect shot composition to the use of lighting and color, I love exploring the ways in which films can capture and convey emotion and meaning through visual storytelling.

As iconic director Martin Scorsese once said, "Cinema is a matter of what's in the frame and what's out." As a photographer, I strive to bring that same level of intention and attention to detail to my work, creating visual narratives that draw the viewer in and keep them captivated.

Whether I'm shooting a portrait, a landscape, an event, or a still life, I'm always looking for ways to bring a sense of storytelling and visual impact to my images. And with their ability to capture and convey emotion and meaning through technical mastery, movies provide endless fuel for my passion for photography.
